Abstract

The study investigates mean velocity distribution of uniform turbulent flows over smooth channel beds and compares these profiles with certain available models. Experiment results show that velocity profiles can be estimated by certain theoretical models provided that some parameters are approximated and flow conditions are defined. The theory that some models are universal and can be used for all types of flows in the general sense cannot stand
